Amber has written books for the British Library, Thames & Hudson, and the Octopus Publishing Group. Her titles include The Fashion of Film which looks at the close relationship between the history of cinema and the history of style; Fashion Illustration in Britain for the British Library, which features previously unpublished periodicals and magazines from their archives going back to the 18th century; and the critically acclaimed Nautical Chic, the first book to trace the influence of the sea on our wardrobes.
Amber writes for newspapers, magazines and online including World of Interiors, The Guardian, Times Literary Supplement, Financial Times, Noisey and Icon design magazine. You can read her work at BBC Culture, and she is a regular contributor to Frieze and ArtReview, writing on the politics of dress and design. She has contributed to books for Fondazione Prada, Bloomsbury Visual Arts, and the Lee Miller Archives.
